Staff Training

As an organisation dedicated to educating and developing young people, Exposure recognises it has a special responsibility to provide relevant training and development opportunities to staff who are themselves, in the main, local young men and women at the beginning of their careers. Exposure recognises staff training and development in the widest sense, including induction, mentoring, job shadowing and attending relevant training events. Over the past year Exposure staff undertook training in leadership enhancement, business planning, drug abuse and disability awareness.

Gary
Working at Exposure isn’t like many other jobs. We’re recognised as a media project, yet the development of young people is our primary goal. Many of the skills needed to do this effectively are gained in practice, by continually working directly with the young people – you can’t learn how to judge mood, or know when to say the right thing, or harness raw talent by simply attending a workshop. Every young person that comes to Exposure is different and requires all staff to draw on their own life experience as well as learning from best practice.
